If you're looking for a way of monitoring how much gas is left, have a look at the Mopeka LPG level gauge.

Here's a quick video that I made:

It seems to work well, but we haven't really run the gas down yet.

Does it work with underslung tanks?

I believe it will, but the readings will be a bit odd because of the circular cross section of the tank. It's not particularly robust or waterproof, so I expect it would need some protection.

Looks like a good piece of kit.... Seems to be out of stock in the UK at the moment though (available from Germany on eBay though)

I noticed the lpg shop sold them BUT are currently out of stock.
Sorry - I checked on my phone, and it looked like the single sensor was available but the double was out of stock. Checked on my proper computer and they's all out of stock :(

(Delivery from Amazon.com was quite quick - about a week, and a bit cheaper too.)
